IMP Receives Abell Foundation Grant

IMP has been awarded a generous $69,056 grant by the Abell Foundation. In addition to supporting the existing IMP program, proceeds from the grant are being used to enroll a third cohort of 9th grade students at Dunbar High School and institute a new “GrandParent Program,” which allows experienced mentors (“GrandParents”) to link IMP families and students.

In the GrandParent program, each GrandParent supports one IMP Family at each grade level from high school through college. The program is a huge step forward towards IMP achieving a sustainable model for success. GrandParents not only enable families to better tap the program’s knowledge base, but also improve IMP’s ability to affect positive change for more youth in Baltimore City.
